70th Republic Day celebration



REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College celebrated 70th Republic Day in a grand manner on January 26th 2019. The Principal Prof. S Kuppuswami and the Correspondent Thiru. A Venkatachalam hoisted the National Flag. They also witnessed the March – Past done by the Cadets. The cadets performed Arm and Foot Drill along with the band and performed a good show. 

The overall troop commander was CSUO. V.Vasantharajan of Final year ECE, who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp-2017 held at New Delhi. The Arms drill platoon comprising of third year students was headed by CUO. R.Poovarasan of Final year Mechanical, who participated in Inter-group Thal-Sainik camp and shooting competition. The Lead cadets were CQMS. K.T.Vishnu of final year mechanical and L/Cpl. M.Pradeep of final year CSE. Cpl. K.Arun Kumar of third year civil who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp-2018 held at delhi was also a part of arms drill platoon. The foot drill platoon comprising of second year students was led by Sgt. E.Rooba dharshini of final year civil, who had attended Inter-directorate shooting championship held at chandigarh. The lead cadets were Sgt.R.Siddharthan of final year CSE and L/Cpl.S.Gokul Kumar of final year EEE. The Band troop was led by CUO. K.Rajesh Kumar of final year mechanical. Cpl. R.Bharath Kumar of third year E&I who participated in international shooting trials performed side drums in the band troop.
        
       The Principal Prof S Kuppuswami and Correspondent Thiru A Venkatachalam congratulated the Cadets who performed a good show and also congratulated Cpl K Pranesh who represented our directorate in RDC, New Delhi. They also congratulated CSUO V.Vasantharajan and Cpl K.Arun Kumar who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp held at 2017 and 2018 respectively. Cpl R.Bharath Kumar who attended international shooting trials and secured 16th position was also applauded.
           
         The celebrations ended with national anthem followed by high-tea to the teaching and non-teaching staff.
