KEC-NCC unit would like to thank the guidance and support provided by our Principal  Prof.S.Kuppuswami and our correspondent Thiru.A.Venkatachalam. We would also like to thank our Group commander Col.M.Peter Celestine, Kovai Group and our commanding officer Col. Henry J. Robert, 15 TN BN NCC, ERODE for their support. We hope to continue our achievements in the upcoming years.

70th Republic Day celebration



REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College celebrated 70th Republic Day in a grand manner on January 26th 2019. The Principal Prof. S Kuppuswami and the Correspondent Thiru. A Venkatachalam hoisted the National Flag. They also witnessed the March – Past done by the Cadets. The cadets performed Arm and Foot Drill along with the band and performed a good show. 

The overall troop commander was CSUO. V.Vasantharajan of Final year ECE, who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp-2017 held at New Delhi. The Arms drill platoon comprising of third year students was headed by CUO. R.Poovarasan of Final year Mechanical, who participated in Inter-group Thal-Sainik camp and shooting competition. The Lead cadets were CQMS. K.T.Vishnu of final year mechanical and L/Cpl. M.Pradeep of final year CSE. Cpl. K.Arun Kumar of third year civil who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp-2018 held at delhi was also a part of arms drill platoon. The foot drill platoon comprising of second year students was led by Sgt. E.Rooba dharshini of final year civil, who had attended Inter-directorate shooting championship held at chandigarh. The lead cadets were Sgt.R.Siddharthan of final year CSE and L/Cpl.S.Gokul Kumar of final year EEE. The Band troop was led by CUO. K.Rajesh Kumar of final year mechanical. Cpl. R.Bharath Kumar of third year E&I who participated in international shooting trials performed side drums in the band troop.
        
       The Principal Prof S Kuppuswami and Correspondent Thiru A Venkatachalam congratulated the Cadets who performed a good show and also congratulated Cpl K Pranesh who represented our directorate in RDC, New Delhi. They also congratulated CSUO V.Vasantharajan and Cpl K.Arun Kumar who participated in All India Thal-Sainik camp held at 2017 and 2018 respectively. Cpl R.Bharath Kumar who attended international shooting trials and secured 16th position was also applauded.
           
         The celebrations ended with national anthem followed by high-tea to the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Surgical Strike Day Celebration


On behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC), the Surgical Strike Day to commemorate the 2nd Anniversary of 2016 Surgical Strike was celebrated at Kongu Engineering College, Erode, TN. It is celebrated to remember the valor and the courage of the soldiers who took part in 2016 surgical strike and to celebrate the victory. This surgical strike was carried out on 29th Sep 2016 in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, exactly 11 days after the Uri attack. It was done to neutralize the militants and other threats that were waiting to infiltrate into our LOC. This is considered as one of the finest missions of the Indian Army and it was done with mere perfection. 

Our college NCC unit organized this event and Sub Major. R.S.Nair, of 15 TN-BN NCC, Erode was called as the chief guest of the function. Our NCC officer Dr. Maj. P.S.Raghavendran guided the cadets for organizing the event. During the chief guest address, SM. R.S.Nair shared his field experiences with us and his experiences at Kashmir during his service. He also briefed us about this surgical strike and its significance. Then our NCC officer gave a brief introduction about the organization & the role of Indian Army in safeguarding the nation. NCC cadets shared various facts about a number of surgical strikes carried out by our army.

72nd Independence Day Celebration


The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College celebrated 72nd Independence Day in a grand manner on August 15th 2018. The Principal Prof. S Kuppuswami and the Correspondent Thiru. A Venkatachalam hoisted the National Flag. They also witnessed the March – Past done by the Cadets. The cadets performed Arm Drill along with the base and performed a good show. All the teachers and the non – teaching staff enjoyed the show and congratulated the cadets for their performance.

INTERNATION DAY OF YOGA-2018

The fourth international day of yoga was celebrated successfully at convention centre in Kongu engineering college on 21st June 2018. It began with the yoga program for cadets, followed by Special program conducted by KEC yoga club. They were appreciated for their excellence in yoga. It is then followed by chief guest address, given by Prof S Kuppuswami, Principal, Kongu Engineering College. Chief guest was honoured by Sub Maj Nair of 15 TN BN NCC.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College celebrated 69th Republic Day in a grand manner on 26.01.2018 in the Playground in the College premises. The Chief guest of the function Thiru A Venkatachalam, Correspondent of Kongu Engineering College hoisted the flag and took the Salute. He gave a speech on the Constitution and its formation, which is very useful and motivating. He also congratulated our NCC Cadet K Aravinth who has gone to Delhi for Republic Day Parade. The Cadets performed Arm Drill and Foot Drill during this occasion. He witnessed the march-past of the cadets and conveyed his wishes for their utmost effort. The Dean’s, The Head of various Departments, Faculty Staffs and students attended the function. Prof S.Kuppuswami, Principal of Kongu Engineering College, The Associate NCC Officer Major Dr P.S.Raghavendran and Lt Col Sanil Damodaran, The Commanding Officer of 15 (TN) BN NCC, Erode appreciated the cadets for their performance.
