The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering
College organized Blood Donation Camp in
our College Campus on 4th October,
2017. The Cadets were willing to donate blood. As the Strength was limited
to 30, these number of cadets donated blood. Our Company Commander Major Dr P. S. Raghavendran also
donated blood along with the Cadets. The Principal Prof. S. Kuppuswami inaugurated
the function. The Correspondent Thiru A.Venkatachalam and
CO Lt. Col Sanil Damodaran felicitated the function. The Blood was donated to Blood Bank of IRT Medical College,
Perundurai. The Staffs congratulated the Cadets for undertaking such
activities and encouraged them to continue these kind of Social Activities.The
Principal and the Correspondent congratulated
the Cadets who donated blood. The Cadets gave speech on the importance of Blood
Donation.

SCHOOL ADOPTION
The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College organized an adoption
program over the Vellode Government School on 22nd September 2017. About 50 Cadets went to the School along with Notebooks, pencils and
erasers for every student in the School. They first cleaned the Campus and then
provided the students with the stationeries bought. The Students were also given
classes on how to use the Computers. The Cadets also taught them how to use
Microsoft Office tools like MS Word, Paint, etc., The students were given
hands-on training in the laptops which the cadets brought. The Cadets
interacted with the Students and clarified their doubts. The Cadets were
accompanied by the PI Staffs from the Battalion. The Principal and the
Correspondent of Kongu Engineering College and CO of 15 TN BN Lt. Col Sanil Damodaran appreciated the
cadets for their work in building future Youth who empower our Nation.
Tree Plantation Program
The NCC Cadets of Kongu
Engineering College organized a Tree Plantation Program on 15th August,
2017 in and around our College and in the Firing Range. The Saplings
planted previously are watered regularly and properly maintained. A total of 25
Saplings are newly planted and available 70 plants were watered.The Principal Prof S. Kuppuswami and NCC Officer Major Dr P. S. Raghavendran appreciated
the Cadets for their effort towards Greener Environment.
Deputy Director General visit
The Deputy Director General of NCC Commodore Vijesh Kumar Garg
visited our College on 10th August, 2017. He arrived our NCC
unit in the Morning. He was given Guard of Honour by our Cadets in the
unit. Later, he came to the Institution by Afternoon. He visited Firing
Range and interacted with the Firing team of the unit. He along with GC
& CO and other PI Staffs, planted Tree Saplings in the Firing Range.Then,
DDG Cmdre V K Garg had a conference with the ANOs from Erode and Salem Unit. He
explained them about their role and their importance in Nation building. He
also interacted with the Principal and the Correspondent of the College along
with other ANOs during the Tea Party. After
the Tea Party, he visited our college NCC Unit Office and appreciated the Work done by the Cadets and
congradulated over the List of Officers which the unit has been produced. The
Unit presented him with a Momentum as a token of honour.
Swachh Bharat Activities
The Cadets of Kongu Engineering College have taken an
initiative for Clean India by conducting different Swachh Bharat
Activities during the Official Parades.
As a due respect to the steps
taken by the Government for Better India, the Cadets took Oath on 09th
August, 2017 stating that they will not be a reason for Polluting and
Spoiling the Environment. Instead, they will give prior importance to keep the
area clean and tidy. The Cadets didn’t stop with oath, they started practising
it.
The Essay Competition
was held on 23rd August, 2017 in the Kongu Engineering
College for the Cadets under the title How can I contribute to Clean
India. The Essays were scrutinised and the best 5 were sent to the
Battalion for National Level Competition.
The Swachh Bharat Cleaning
Activity was held on 13th September, 2017 at Thoppupalayam.
The Cadets cleaned the public places like Bus Stand, in and around Temple,
along the Roadside and in front of the Shops. The Cadets collected about 30 kgs
of non-bio degradable wastes and disposed in the bins. On seeing the work,
local people appreciated us. Thus, these activities by the Cadets have brought
a change in the Society.
Kargil Vijay Diwas
The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering
College celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July, 2017 in College.
About 100 Cadets along with our ANO Major
Dr P. S. Raghavendran participated in this event. The Commanding Officer of
15 (TN) Battalion Lt. Col Sanil
Damodaran honoured the function. The Principal Prof S. Kuppuswami presided over the function, while the
Correspondent Mr.A. Venkatachalam
felicitated the function. The Cadets were given speech on the Sequence of the
War and the patronage of the Warriors. The Cadets felt inspirational after the
speech. The Commanding Officer and Principal paid floral tribute to the
Martyrs.The NCC Training Activity for the Academic year 2017-2018 was also
inaugurated on the same function.

68th Republic Day Celebration
The NCC unit of Kongu
Engineering College celebrated 68th Republic Day on
26th January 2017. The Chief Guest of the function Mr. A.Venkatachalam hoisted
the National Flag and gave a motivational speech about the
Republic Day . The Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief Guest Mr. A.Venkatachalam by our NCC Cadets. The NCC troop
did arms drill and foot drill march past. The staff members and students of
Kongu engineering college have attended the function. The arrangements for
Republic day celebrations was made by the NCC cadets. The Principal Prof.
S.Kuppuswami and NCC Officer Major Dr. P.S.Raghavendran has appreciated the cadets for organizing the program.
