Intra Group Competition

Intra group competition was conducted by the NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai on 20.03.2016 and 23.06.2016, led by Major Dr. P.S.Raghavendran. The NCC Cadets of Kongu Engineering College were divided into three platoons namely, Arjuna, Ranaprathap and Shivaji. Each platoon had equal strength of 21 cadets. Various events like Drill Competition, Physical Proficiency test, 110m Obstacles Running, Volley ball and 4*100m Relay were conducted for the cadets of three platoons.The Overall Best Platoon award was awarded to Arjuna Platoon.

 

 

Trekking

The NCC cadets of Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai went on trekking from Guruvarediyur to Chitteshwaran temple at Palamalai on 05.03.2016. The Trekking was carried out for a distance of 30kms . The troop was led by NCC Officer Major Dr. P.S.Raghavendran. On the way to the Chitteshwaran Temple, the cadets visited a tribal village, Periyakulam and gave notebooks and writing materials to the children of that village. They also cleaned the village under the Clean India Program. The cadets were exposed to adventures in military service in this trekking. The Correspondent Mr. V.K.Muthuswamy and the Principal Prof. S.Kuppuswami of Kongu engineering college and Commanding Officer Lt Col Sudhir Nair have appreciated the cadets in organizing such activities.

Martyrs Homage Rally

Martyrs Homage Rally was conducted for our 10 brave hearts who lost their life for our country in a Siachen glacier avalanche recently. The rally was conducted by 15(TN) BN NCC, Erode. Around 250 cadets have taken part in the martyrs homage rally on 18.02.2016. The rally was inaugurated by Erode district Collector Shri Dr.S.Prabhakar I.A.S and the rally started from Erode Bus stand and stopped at CNC college. The NCC Cadets and the Army personnel led the rally in a good manner. After reaching the destination at CNC college, the Principal of CNC College addressed the gathering and Brigadier Loganathan gave a wonderful motivational speech to the cadets about the sacrifice made by brave army men and his experience in the war field.

Motivational Speech

The ex-cadet Lt P.Rajashekar of Kongu Engineering College gave a motivational speech on ‘How to join Armed Forces’ to the NCC cadets on 27.01.2016.The Correspondent Mr.V.K.Muthuswamy and the Principal Prof. S.Kuppuswami of Kongu engineering college gave momento to the chief guest.

67th Republic Day Celeberation

The NCC unit of Kongu Engineering College celebrated 67^th Republic Day on 26 January 2016. The Chief Guest of the function Mr. V.K.Muthuswamy hoisted the tricolor National Flag and gave a motivational speech about the Republic Day and also emphasized that one can become good citizen if one has good physical and mental health that can think better and take wise decisions for themselves and for the nation. The Guard of Honour was presented to the Chief Guest Mr. V.K.Muthuswamy by our NCC Cadets. The NCC troop did arms drill and foot drill march past. The staff members and students of Kongu engineering college have attended the function. The arrangements for Republic day celebrations was made by the NCC cadets. The Principal Prof. S.Kuppuswami and NCC Officer Major Dr. P.S.Raghavendran has appreciated the cadets for organizing the program.

Mini Marathon

A Mini-Marathon event for NCC cadets was organized jointly by Kongu Polytechnic college NCC unit and Kongu Engineering College NCC unit on 24.01.2016. Cadets from all the colleges of 15 (TN) BN NCC, Erode participated in the event. A total of 498 cadets (both SD and SW) participated in the event. The event was flagged by the Correspondent Mr. C.Kumarasamy and the Principal Mr.V.Vedhagiri Eswaran of Kongu Polytechnic College, Perundurai. SD cadets covered a distance of 6km and SW cadets, 3km. The event started at Vaikalmedu and finished at Kongu Engineering College ground. NSS volunteers of Kongu Engineering College NSS unit guided the participants throughout the distance and had established three water points. Medals and cash prize were awarded to the prize winners. Major Dr. P.S.Raghavendran, NCC Officer of Kongu Engineering College congratulated the cadets for participating in this event. Lt Col Sudhir Nair, Commanding Officer of 15 (TN) BN NCC, Erode congratulated the cadets in organizing such event.

Clean India Programme

Clean India Movement was organised by the NCC Cadets of  Kongu Engineering College along with the NSS Students on 10.01.2016 covering in and around the Kongu Engineering College campus.
