Commission (UGC), the Surgical Strike Day to commemorate the 2nd
Anniversary of 2016 Surgical Strike was celebrated at Kongu Engineering College,
Erode, TN. It is celebrated to remember the valor and the courage of the
soldiers who took part in 2016 surgical strike and to celebrate the victory.
This surgical strike was carried out on 29th Sep 2016 in the
Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, exactly 11 days after the Uri attack. It was done to
neutralize the militants and other threats that were waiting to infiltrate into
our LOC. This is considered as one of the finest missions of the Indian Army
and it was done with mere perfection.
Our college NCC unit organized this
event and Sub Major. R.S.Nair, of 15 TN-BN NCC, Erode was called as the chief
guest of the function. Our NCC officer Dr. Maj. P.S.Raghavendran guided the
cadets for organizing the event. During the chief guest address, SM. R.S.Nair
shared his field experiences with us and his experiences at Kashmir during his
service. He also briefed us about this surgical strike and its significance.
Then our NCC officer gave a brief introduction about the organization & the
role of Indian Army in safeguarding the nation. NCC cadets shared various facts
about a number of surgical strikes carried out by our army.
